I first and only time I ever saw this movie was on late night television
in the early or early-mid 80's. Several scenes stand out all these
years later, including the death scene in the car (not like it's
a mystery how he died), and several of the singing scenes. Sneezy
Waters is more powerful than a tent-revival preacher on a hot Alabama
night in several scenes in the bar. Over the years I forgot the
full name of the movie, and exactly what Waters' name was, and have
just spent several hours searching for reference to them both. It's
harder than you might think. I've just ordered the video, and urge
you to do so as well.
